Dornier Model "X" - Germany to USÂ Route

Featuring the Dornier model "X", 12 engine plane. This was the largest plane in the world at the time.

Although the performance was lousy, it could carry 160 plus people! Two were built for the Italian government and both were scrapped in the 1930's. The plane's water cooled engines were prone to breakdown. The design was ahead of the engine technology of the time.
